Marinara Sauce - Quick

This marinara sauce is designed for speed rather than authenticity. For an Italian purist, this is pure heresy, but I use this sauce for recipes that bury the sauce with other flavors, such as a pizza or lasagna. If the marinara sauce is the main flavor of the dish, you are better off making the [“Marinara Sauce - Traditional recipe](/recipes/marinara-sauce-traditional/).

Ingredients

  • 4 Oz Can of Tomato Paste
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 2 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar or Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Slowly mix with a fork or whisk until the ingredients are combined and the sauce has an even consistency.
  2. If you want a runnier sauce, add 1-2 Tbsp of water and mix until the consistency is even again.
