About Me

Hi, my name is Jeff Meyerhoff. I enjoy tinkering with my computer setup, riding my bicycle (weather permitting), reading, and cooking.

I started writing the blog on this website in March 2023. I mostly write about technology and its impact on me. I’ve been thinking about these topics are Jenny Odell’s How to Do Nothing and Virginia Heffernan’s Magic and Loss. My posts are centered around the “downgrading” of my technology, which refers to making choices that favor personal ownership and simplicity over consumer busyness. I already have all the computing power that I need. It’s just a matter of how I use it. I think that consumer technology as a cultural idea has outlived its usefulness.
